This section is for you, the professionals.
We have attended IPRCs and other meetings, have had
discussions with principals, superintendents, special
ed resource teachers and a variety of related school
personnel. We have found it constructive to act as a
liaison and buffer between parents and the schools.
We have directed energies towards creating as positive
a relationship with the school as possible and have
made efforts to help the parents understand some
of the circumstances of the school's position. Our philosophy
is overwhelmingly directed towards a collaborative win-win
situation and not a combative one. Emotions have to
be seen in the context of what is best for the special
needs student in question.
